David Benson FurberBorn Oct. 31, 1846, in Marlow, Chesire County, N. H. Son of Rev. Franklin Furber of the New England Conference; brother of Charles Hamline, Wesleyan, Class of '73.
1861, Entered with the Class of '65. 1863, left college to join the Army.
1863-5, Served in U.S. Signal Corps, with the Army of the James, and promoted to Sergeant in Signal Corps.
1866, Re-entered college, graduating with the Class of '67.
1867-8, Teacher of Latin and Mathematics, Wesleyan Academy, Wilbraham, Mass.
1868-76, Teacher of Latin and Greek in High School, Westfield, Mass.
1877-8, Agent for Ginn Bros., Boston, Mass.
1879, Paymaster and office manager for Crane Bros., (paper manufacturers) Westfield, Mass.
Married, Dec. 7, 1877, Miss Florence Mallalieu Kawton, of Ware, Mass.
